Rare Variant M1 Garand Rifle Bayonet measuring 14.75" OAL, 10" blade. Excellent blade showing some light age wear, the handle metal shows some old scattered black paint as well as the metal scabbard throat area. Scabbard is very good showing some handling wear, light scratches. The throat area shows the US markings inside a flaming bomb.So this started and is marked, U.C. over US over 1942 with a flaming bomb. These were then shortened down to 10" by the Military. This one was done by PAL, the back is stamped PAL MOD (Modification). Most of these were not marked by the Company that did these, but both very reputable makers. The ricasso also has the crossed cannon ordnance stamp on the PAL side. Utica was the only Maker that had these on their blades. A rare piece and in excellent condition. See photos.
