Front View: Vertical interior perspective of a French Gothic church sanctuary, showcasing soaring ribbed groin vault ceilings, pointed arch windows filled with stone geometric tracery, and fresco lettering reading "Crois au... [S]eras Sauvé" across the vaulting spans. Historical/Genealogical Interest: The reverse side features a complete, highly poignant handwritten letter detailing the death and funeral of a sibling named Suzanne. The writer notes that because Suzanne passed away unwed, she received a traditional young maiden's burial ceremony filled with flowers and floral crowns. Geographic Origin: Hand-dated from Héricourt, a commune in the Haute-Saône department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. Condition: Good antique condition. Unposted. Developed on a premium matte card stock. Dear sister, I am writing these few lines to let you know that our sister Suzanne died Sunday morning at 3:30 AM. They came to get me in the morning. She did not suffer too much. I believe all the women of the village were at the funeral. She had flowers and wreaths like a young maiden. Marie had been there since Friday."
