Rare Vintage Mid Century Bruno’s Pen & Pencil NYC Ashtray – Signed E. Stocco

An unusual and highly decorative vintage ashtray from Bruno’s Pen & Pencil, the historic New York City restaurant located at 205 East 45th Street on Manhattan’s celebrated former “Steak Row.”

Unlike the more commonly encountered simple glass advertising ashtrays, this substantial ceramic piece has a distinctive Mid-Century design featuring a dramatic black-and-gray marbled body, cream center panel, and sculptural ribbed gold-tone rests at both ends.

The center displays the original BRUNO / PEN AND PENCIL / N.Y.C. crest, while the underside is individually signed “E. Stocco.”

This particular ceramic design appears to be quite uncommon. I have not found another identical example during my research, making it an especially interesting piece of surviving old New York restaurant Pen & Pencil, N.Y.C.

Tobacciana / barware vintage condition. Clean and very well preserved, with the decorative crest, marbled finish and gold-tone details presenting beautifully. No chips or cracks observed. Please review all photographs carefully for exact condition.
