Pair of Victorian brass candlesticks, circa 1860s. Baluster-turned stem on a square, stepped, beaded base, with a campana-form socket and detachable nozzle. Solid cast brass with age-appropriate patina. Bases have their original green baize; underside baize has lifted at a corner (see detail photo).

Purchased at an antique market in Arles, France.
