Up for sale is thispair of antique South American Conquistador-Style Stirrups.Each slipper stirrupsis shaped like a leather boot with an upturned square toe, and are ribbed to mimic creases in leather. A rectangular loop rises from the tongue of each boot, allowing for a leather strap that hooks the saddle, and additional incised designs adorn the sides of them. The Spanish introduced horses to the Americas in the 16th Century, as well as the fancy tack that was meant to be impressive as it protects the riders' feet over rough terrain.This antique pair was purchasedfrom Artemis Fine Arts in June 2024and the COA (Certificate of Authenticity) will also be provided.As a unique testament to Spanish Colonial period, it will make a great addition to any Latin American antiquities collection!My Seller Details: - Combined shipping can be accommodated if contact me before you purchase multiple lots.
