Nice pick — that’s Spawn #8 (February 1993, Image Comics) — another striking Todd McFarlane cover that captures Spawn crouched and glowing with necroplasmic power, chains whipping around him as green energy crackles beneath his hand. A visually explosive early issue that shows off everything that made this series legendary.

Amos’s Tip

By issue #8, McFarlane had Spawn’s visual identity locked in — gothic, muscular, and layered with supernatural energy. This issue’s cover is a fan-favorite for its eerie green aura and dramatic perspective, perfectly blending superhero dynamism with horror grit. The early single-digit issues are always the ones collectors chase hardest, and #8 is a standout.
