Lee & Lillian Perkins Old World Santa Hand Carved Wood Signed 2011 10in For Sale

Original hand-carved and hand-painted Old World Santa folk-art sculpture by noted Knoxville, Tennessee woodcarving team Lee and Lillian Perkins.

This substantial approximately 10-inch wooden figure depicts Santa wearing a deep red robe with white trim, holding a curved staff and carrying a decorated sack. The detailed facial carving, long flowing beard, visible tool marks and softly distressed painted finish give the piece a distinctive artisan-made appearance.

The unfinished wooden base is signed:

CONDITION

Pre-owned artisan-carved condition with significant natural wood checking/splitting. A long vertical split extends through the back of the red robe and continues into the lower white trim and base. Additional checking is visible around the hood. There are also light paint rubs, marks and other normal signs of handling.

The splits are clearly photographed and are an important part of the condition. The figure remains displayable, but it is being sold as-is because of the wood separation. Please examine every photograph closely before purchasing.

Approximate height: 10 inches
