This is a beautiful and terrific example of a yellow orange, beautifully fluorescent(SW), zircon crystals from Malawi.
The specimen fluoresces a nice yellow under short wave UV light (photos 1 - 6 ).
Unlike a lot of other Zircons, this specimen displays a mild orange color fluorescence under long wave (please see last 2 photos ) .
I HAD A VERY HARD TIME CAPTURING THE COLORS (LW & SW) OF THIS SPECIMEN.IT IS MUCH NICER "IN PERSON"!
Short wave photos taken with Super Bright UV lamp.Long wave photos with 36 watt Way Too Cool lamp.
Please note special UV light is mandatory to visualize the fluorescence.
