â– About the Design
This tenugui features \"Rising Dragon\" (Nobori Ryu-zu), a hand-painted masterpiececreated by Katsushika Hokusai — the legendary ukiyo-e artist of the late Edo period, famous worldwide for \"The Great Wave\" — in the final years of his life.
A dragon summons the clouds and twists its body as it soars into the sky, filling the entireframe. Layered shades of sumi ink create depth and powerful presence, with every detail —from the sharp claws to the thorn-like scales — rendered with remarkable precision.

â– What is a Tenugui?
A tenugui is a traditional Japanese cotton cloth that has been used for centuries. It is thin, lightweight, quick-drying and highly versatile.
- Wall art / tapestry — display it as Japanese artwork
- Hand towel — absorbent and dries quickly
- Gift wrapping — wrap bottles or boxes in the furoshiki style
- Headband / bandana — for cooking, sports, festivals and outdoor use
- Gift — perfect for fans of Japanese art, ukiyo-e and dragons
â– Please Note (Characteristics of Tenugui)
- The edges are intentionally left uncut and unhemmed — a traditional feature of tenugui. They may fray slightly at first, but this stops after a few washes.
- Color may bleed with sweat or friction. Please wash separately, and do not leave it wet — dry promptly.
- Small slubs in the fabric are a natural characteristic of the cloth, not a defect.
- The weave may be slightly skewed and the cut edge may appear diagonal; this straightens out with washing.
- Color tone may vary slightly by dyeing season and by your monitor settings.
