Hand Forged Rock Pick For Sale

Completely hand forged from a solid piece of 1045 Medium Carbon IRON
This rock pick/geologist hammer is great for splitting small geodes, prospecting, and collecting gemstones.
Both the pick and the hammer face have been hardened and tempered to provide the best possible durability and toughness in the field. The weight of the head is approximately 1lb.The handle is made of American Hickory and is 12 inches long. Both the head and handle come treated with boiled linseed oil to protect from rust, and to keep the wood handle from drying out over time. In the event that the head may become loose from drying out in storage, soaking the head in boiled linseed oil will swell the wood fibers and correct the issue. Boiled linseed oil is available at nearly every home store. The linseed oil may feel slightly tacky on steel
