Our Restoration Process:
This lid has been meticulously brought back to life. It was fully stripped down to the bare iron using a lye bath and an electrolysis tank to ensure all old carbon buildup and rust were completely removed without damaging the vintage metal. After being thoroughly cleaned, it was carefully re-seasoned with multiple coats of our custom, hand-mixed balm—a premium blend of grapeseed oil, sunflower oil, and beeswax. This process leaves the iron with a gorgeous, dark, and highly protective finish that is ready for display or immediate use in your kitchen.
Condition Notes & Photo Reference:
This skillet cover is in fantastic condition with crisp, clear lettering. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs. As with all vintage cast iron, minor casting flaws or light surface wear from decades of use may be present.
