The product is a set of bookends designed by Scottish artist John McPhail, featuring a human form sculpture made of black iron in a Brutalist style. The matte black finish adds a hand made artistic touch to your CD or DVD collection. Maybe a few books, too. These are a unique and artistic addition to any home or office space. With the origins in Scotland, these bookends showcase the craftsmanship and creativity of artist John Mcphail.

No casts,no moulds, every sculpture an individually made piece with its character unique to its owner
I\'ve been making sculptures now for over 30yrs. I have no training no art degrees in fact never went to art college. I\'d love to tell you what inspires me but I can\'t. I create on the fly, spur of the moment, get an idea and I\'m in the workshop at the back of my house in Moffat, Scotland.
Apart from my regular work I specialise in commissions working with customers to create something unique for that special occasion.
I also specialise in designing and making awards. In the past I\'ve made awards for Kylie Minogue, Rod Stewart, Billy Connolly as well awards for The Scottish Chambers, Scottish Council, Kodak International, BP, Shell UK, Master Photography Association and many others and I love working with whoever wants the special gift.
My sculptures are all made using a gas welding technique and although I may make some figure all doing the same thing, they cannot be identical. It is impossible to replicate any of my sculptures.
Oh by the way, I have three cats, Sammy,Archie and Dougal. The latter two being two lovely gingers.
