The Arizona Petrified Forest is known for its fossils, especially fallen trees that lived in the Late Triassic Epoch, about 225 million years ago. The sediments containing the fossil logs are part of the widespread and colorful Chinle Formation, from which the Painted Desert gets its name.About Our Team:Charlene and Luna joined the team at Secret Gypsy Kiss Ranch a few months ago after they waited together as friends for almost two years at The Humane Society in Show Low, Arizona for their forever homes.Luna, a Pointer / Heeler mix, was given over to The Humane Society as a young pup and for whatever reasons she didn\'t trust people, men especially. Over the years she was adopted, and returned, twice.Charlene, a Husky mix, grew up on the streets of Show Low. Local lore has it that she lived amongst the stock of water and septic tanks stored outside of a local big box supply store, until a new manager called The Man on her and had her trapped and taken to the shelter.Today they have plenty of room, freedom, and most importantly for working breed dogs, jobs! A significant portion of the proceeds of these sales goes directly to the feeding, boarding, and care of Charlene and Luna, as well as a small band of rescued ranch cats.
