Two antique cold-painted bronze miniatures, believed to be Austrian (Vienna), circa 1900. Both pieces have the same cream shorts with red stripes, consistent with other unmarked Vienna bronzes of this type.
The larger piece shows a boy and a seated pig at a wooden washtub, cast as one piece. About 1.5" tall and 1.5" wide.
The smaller piece shows a boy holding a pig by the tail. About 3/4" tall and 1.5" wide.
Solid metal, non-magnetic, and heavy for their size. No maker's mark that I can find.
Condition: Paint loss consistent with age, mostly on edges and high points, with bronze showing through. Please see photos, which are part of the description.
From my mother's collection, where they were stored for many years. I'm not an expert and can't guarantee attribution, so please judge from the photos. Happy to answer questions or send more pictures.Item specifics: Material: Bronze. Region: Europe/Austria. Theme: Black Americana. Age: Pre-1940 (unknown exact). Signed: No.
