Antique Victorian Brass Mechanical Pencil Pat 1869 Wahl Eversharp HB Lead Tin Lot

Vtg Ring Top Pocket Pencil Pat 1869 Ball Chain NY Wahl Red Top HB Square Leads

Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible antique pocket companion marriage lot. This custom set pairs two complementary pieces of late 19th and early 20th-century writing history that look fantastic displayed together.

The primary item is an antique Victorian-era miniature brass pocket mechanical pencil. The barrel features a detailed knurled pattern and is stamped with the historical patent mark: \"Pat. APR. 13. 69\". Crucially, the internal mechanism is fully functional, utilizing its split-chuck tip to firmly grip pencil lead. It comes equipped with a vintage brass ball-link chain piece stamped with its manufacturer hallmark: \"Ball Chain Mt Vernon, NY\".

The second item is an authentic vintage 1920s metal matchbox-style lead tin from The Wahl Co. One side reads \"HB MED. SOFT - THE WAHL CO. MADE IN CHICAGO, U.S.A.\" and the reverse is stamped \"EVERSHARP RED TOP SQUARE LEADS\". Remarkably, the tin still contains 9 original pieces of rare, vintage square-profile graphite lead!

Now looking at the listing I should have added a few more pictures. I\'ll be adding more. The top of the leads have a bit of red on top.

PLEASE NOTE: These two items are not a native factory-matched pair but have been combined as a gorgeous display set. The vintage Wahl square leads inside the tin are technically too long for the miniature pencil chamber, but if you break off a small piece of lead, it fits and works smoothly in the mechanical holder.
