Antique TEXAS Woman Feeding CHICKENS Vintage Farm PHOTOGRAPH Addie, Tommie Sisco For Sale

Wonderful original early 20th-century photograph of a woman identified as “Aunt Addie Sisco,” posed outside a wooden farm building with a feed container and surrounded by a very large flock of chickens.

A particularly appealing piece of early American rural life and agricultural photography. Unlike a conventional studio portrait, this is an unusually detailed outdoor scene showing Aunt Addie with her chickens, rustic wooden fencing and farm buildings, poultry crates and feeding equipment. One especially wonderful detail is the chicken perched atop the wooden crate at right.  Also note the feed captured mid air in motion,

The photograph is mounted on an embossed decorative photographer’s card measuring approximately 7 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches overall, based on the ruler photographs.

Handwritten beneath the image: “Aunt Addie Sisco.”

The reverse contains a wonderful later family inscription identifying her as the wife of Tommie Sisco and remembering the family and home fondly, describing her as a wonderful cook, housekeeper, mother and wife. Please see photograph of reverse for the complete inscription.
