Antique Stereoscope Viewer Pat’d Apr 12 1904 + 13 Vintage Stereoview Cards For Sale

Antique wooden and metal stereoscope viewer accompanied by 13 assorted vintage stereoview cards.
The viewer has a dark wood body and handle, decorative metal hood with fabric edging, glass lenses, and an adjustable wooden card holder. A faint impressed marking on the wood reads “PAT’D APR. 12 ’04.” No maker’s name or other identifying mark has been observed.
The 13 stereoview cards include a mixture of travel, historical and domestic subjects. Including
“Steamer Loading Cotton, Mobile, Alabama”
“St. Peter’s Church, Rome”
“The Famous Wawona Tunnel Tree and Coach, Cal.”; and 10 domestic scenes.
The viewer and cards are antique/vintage items showing normal wear from age, handling and storage. The viewer has surface wear, patina and wear/fraying to the fabric edging. The cards vary in condition and show age-related edge and corner wear, surface wear, discoloration and other imperfections. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
The stereoscope has not been restored or cleaned beyond ordinary light handling. The card holder slides along the viewer. The lenses are present. Sold as an antique collectible with the 13 cards shown.
