Antique Silk Quilt from New England For Sale

Beautiful silk quilt, expertly and lovingly restored, were needed, by using age appropriate silks. Found in New England. Hand pieced 4 inch squares and silk rectangles are arranged to form a "square within a square" pattern in center. No batting or filler. The top and beautiful, original pink silk backing are hand knotted from the back with silk thread - ties are not visible on the front. Back has a 2 inch gold silk border. Knife edge finish - no binding. ALL work is by hand. There is an embroidered label on back with the restorer's name, location, and date of 1992 on the back. Please see photo. Please note that the photos have a slight yellow tinge that is not actually on quilt.
