    Why Both Marks Are Present
    • The Manufacturer:The green backstamp in your image belongs toPorzellanfabrik Zeh, Scherzer & Co., founded in 1880 in Rehau, Bavaria. The \"Mignon\" line was one of their most successful collections.

After the original Imperial State Manufactory Vienna closed in 1864, many other European factories adopted the name and its famous \"beehive\" (or shield) mark to signify pieces decorated in this prestigious style.
    • Secondary Decoration:In many cases, Z.S. & Co. provided the porcelain \"blanks,\" while a secondary studio added the high-end hand-painted portraits and gold embellishments associated with Royal Vienna, sometimes adding a \"beehive\" mark to the back at that stage.
Dating Your PieceThe specific green mark shown in your image—with the company name and \"BAVARIA\" separated by a wavy line—was used by Z.S. & Co. between1880 and 1918.Keep in mind the shipping price also covers handling fees, packaging materials & time, not just postage.
