The term "Nippon" (the Japanese name for Japan) refers to porcelain made in Japan primarily between 1891 and 1921. This era aligns with the McKinley Tariff Act of 1890, which required imported goods to be clearly marked with their country of origin in English text.

These sets typically feature delicate hand-painted motifs, such as the pink wild roses seen here, framed by gold gilt borders and soft pastel washes.
