Antique German Bisque Googly-Eyed Character Figurines-Boy & Girl Pair For Sale

Up for sale is a charming, 100% authentic pair of antique German all-bisque comic character figurines, dating back to the circa 1910s–1920s. This matching pair features a pouting little boy in checked overalls/rompers with his finger to his mouth, and a coordinating little girl holding a small chick.

Both figurines feature classic "googly-style" side-glancing eyes, molded details, and puckered expressions highly reminiscent of the Campbell Kids and Kewpie illustrations of the era. They feature their original cold-painted green outfits.

Both figures are explicitly marked on the reverse side with a deep, crisp "GERMANY" stamp and the incised factory mold number 2711 near the base. These specific markings are highly indicative of production by the renowned German porcelain factory Hertwig & Co. (Katzhütte, Thuringia)

Good antique condition with no observed chips, cracks, or structural repairs. The unglazed bisque porcelain retains a beautiful matte texture. As is typical with authentic items of this age, there is natural wear, fading, and paint loss to the green cold-painted finish, along with light surface dust/patina appropriate for their age.
