Antique French Painted Wood Crucifix Carved Jesus Corpus Quatrefoil Cross 60\" For Sale

Description:
This large antique wooden crucifix appears to date to the late 1800\'s or early 1900\'s and was crafted in Europe. Its substantial cross is painted deep green and ornamented with red quatrefoil terminals, stylized floral motifs, and gold-colored accents. A carved wooden figure of Christ projects dramatically from the cross beneath an INRI plaque. The expressive corpus has well-defined facial features, musculature, hands, feet, and drapery. The contrast between the natural wood-toned figure and the richly colored cross gives the piece a distinctive devotional and folk-art character. A metal hanging bracket is mounted on the reverse for wall display.Like all our antiques, it was thoughtfully sourced in Europe, imported to our Oregon warehouse, and carefully finished with antique-grade paste wax to preserve its beauty for years to come.Condition:
This piece is in good antique condition, with wear consistent with age and use. The painted surfaces show notable fading, scratches, and areas of loss, while the carved corpus has surface wear and finish variation. Please review all photos closely for condition details.Dimensions:
