Titled “Defensive Lines 10th Army Corps from Fort Burnham (Battery Harrison) to Right of New Market Road,” this historical map documents Union fortifications, roads, earthworks, and military positions during the Richmond-Petersburg Campaign.
The map was prepared under the authority of Peter S. Michie, U.S. Engineers, and appears as Map No. 2 on Plate 68 of the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies, published in the 1890s.
