Original antique cabinet card photograph depicting a young boy posed outdoors with a bicycle. The sitter is shown leaning forward over the handlebars, wearing a dark cap, jacket, knee-length trousers, stockings, and lace-up boots, all consistent with late nineteenth to early twentieth century youth attire.
The photograph was taken outdoors rather than in a studio, with a brick walkway and a large building visible in the background, providing contextual detail uncommon in standard cabinet card portraits. The bicycle appears to be an early road-style model, aligning with the transitional period of bicycle development around the turn of the century.
The cabinet card is mounted on a dark-toned card mount with squared corners. A photographer stamp for H. D. Reed is present on the reverse of the mount. A later collector sticker is also affixed to the reverse noting “Bicycle Photo $150,” indicating prior collector classification and pricing.
Condition shows age-appropriate wear. Light surface wear, edge wear, and handling wear are present, consistent with an antique outdoor cabinet photograph.
