Antique Bradley & Hubbard Mfg Co Art Nouveau Calling Card/Valet Tray 1895-1910
Bradley & Hubbard Mfg Co produced top tier "Art Brass" from 1852-1940 in Meriden, CT. This tray is stamped with the makers logo - the iconic lamp of knowledge logo - which was used between 1875-1940. This particular Art Nouveau aesthetic places its manufacture between approximately 1895-1910, to the best of my knowledge and research.
Calling cards were used in the Victorian Era and placed on trays like these as were messages and letters for the household members. I imagine they were also used for valet items, as I have used it. Keys, pocket change, odd and ends from various pockets.
