Antique 1919 Weston Model 45 DC Milliammeter Wooden Box Laboratory Certificate For Sale

Up for sale is an incredible piece of early American scientific engineering: an antique Weston D.C. Milliammeter Model 45, manufactured by the Weston Electrical Instrument Co. of Newark, New Jersey. This precision instrument features a beautiful, robust oak wood carrying case with its original heavy leather strap handle and metal latch mechanism. Inside the lid is the rare, original factory paper calibration certificate card from the Weston Laboratory, hand-signed and dated February 3, 1919. The internal meter unit sits firmly on its wood base plate and displays a highly detailed scale reading from 0 to 500 milliamperes, complete with its original binding post knobs and mirrored anti-parallax dial section. It makes a premier display piece for scientific curators, electrical history enthusiasts, or industrial steampunk decor.
Condition Notes:This antique scientific instrument is completely untested and is being sold strictly as-is for parts, repair, historical collection, or decorative display. Visually, the wood case exhibits an authentic aged patina with scattered surface scratches, small nicks, and typical weathering. There is minor chipping on the bottom edges of the wooden meter base plate. The original leather carry strap is fully intact but shows dryness and cracking typical for its 100+ year age. The faceplate glass is clear, and the internal scale paper remains bright and legible with minimal yellowing. Please closely review all provided photographs to evaluate the exact cosmetic condition and historic details of this early 20th-century instrument.
