1912 S110 Tobacco Pillow Top Silk No 9 Birds Eagle Helmar Turkey Red Premium:

Large-format color textile premium measuring approximately 22.5 × 22.75 inches, featuring a dramatic American bald eagle at center surrounded by numerous individually identified birds, including cardinal, bluebird, kingfisher, toucan, pheasant, wild turkey, ruffed grouse, scarlet tanager, blue grosbeak, oriole and others.

The lower corner is printed “No. 9,” identifying this as the Birds design in the S110 tobacco-premium pillow-top series. The S110 series included a variety of subjects including Famous Base Ball Players, American Indians, Hamilton King Girls, Famous Generals, Birds and other designs. Period pillow tops of this type were offered as tobacco-premium redemption items associated with Helmar and Turkey Red tobacco promotions.

The textile was designed to resemble a decorative arrangement of individual tobacco silks, with the bird images surrounded by printed red cross-stitch borders, floral decoration and a large central eagle.

Condition is excellent for age, with remarkably strong original color and a very attractive overall appearance. There are expected folds/creases from storage, light age-related handling and minor edge/fringe wear as shown.
