Authentic Golden Age Postcard Album – Single New England Family Estate (1905–1908)
Up for sale is a remarkably preserved, untouched antique postcard album containing approximately 200 vintage postcards dating between 1905 and 1908. This entire collection originates from a single New England estate, documenting the historical correspondence and holiday greetings sent to Edna Merrill and her close family members.
The vast majority of these cards are written, addressed, and cleanly postmarked with period-accurate stamps, offering a fascinating genealogical window into early 20th-century New England life.
Collection Highlights & Features:- Volume: Approximately 200 total cards safely housed inside a period-accurate, red textured corner-slot album.- Real Photo Postcards (RPPCs): Includes highly collectible real photo landscape and portrait cards.- Holiday & Greeting Cards: A beautiful assortment of vintage holiday cards, featuring premium elements of the era including intense metallic gold embossing and subtle glitter highlights.- Specialty Ephemera: Features a rare novelty leather postcard addressed to Edna Davis, complete with a clear historical postmark.- Regional Context: Sourced entirely from the New England region, with numerous local postmarks, town views, and historical scenes native to the area
Condition Note:The postcards themselves are beautifully preserved. The vintage album pages feature original slotted paper corners to hold the cards. Please note that due to age and handling over the last 120 years, there are tears on some of the paper corner slots across various pages (as visible in the photos). Some slots are fragile or torn, but the cards remain safely nestled in place. The album\'s red cover shows honest, age-appropriate shelf wear. Please review the high-resolution page photos carefully to evaluate the exact condition of the album pages and cards. Sold strictly AS-IS as a historic estate find.
