Arnaud Cartwright Marts, former president of Bucknell University and a professional fund raiser, died yesterday at. Doctor's Hospital. He was 82 years old and lived at 41 Park Avenue. A graduate of Oberlin Col lege. Dr. Marts began his fund raising career during World War I. when he helped to run two fund‐raising campaigns connected with the war effort. In 1926, he founded Marts &. Lundy, Inc., a professional fund‐raising corporation. He was elected to the board of trustees of Bucknell in 1932 and served as president from 1937 to 1945. During World War II, he was executive director of the State Council of Defense in Pennsylvania. Dr. Marts was the author of several hooks. The latest. “The Generosity of Americans,” was published in 1966.
