Here\'s a great child\'s bank vault safe that dates back to the 60s? I think this may be a 1-owner toy. Obviously handled with great care. There is evidence inside the safe of a young man\'s dreams... you will see.
This is a Mosler Junior Bank Vault made by Brumberger of Brooklyn, New York. The vault doors open when a unique combination is dialed. Each of these vault banks had a different combination which was provided on a sticker. As you can see, the original sticker is still present.
Along with providing the combination, the sticker reads: \"Remove label and store elsewhere. It is the only record of your combination.\" This sticker is still attached to this vault bank! In fact, this bank looks like it has hardly been used. It\'s in excellent condition. The only problem is that three of the four rubber \"feet\" from the bottom of the vault are missing, one is in the bottom of the box. It looks like this is a common issue with this bank. I\'m sure these little feet are readily available.
After using the combination and opening the right door, a spring-loaded lever pushed the door out with the whirring sound of a friction motor. I\'m not sure if this is the way it operates or it may need an adjustment. The motor spins freely and operates as new.
It\'s made of steel, and it still has its original shiny patina! You\'re not likely to find another one of these vaults banks in nicer condition than this one anywhere else. There\'s a coin slot on the top of the vault, or you can open the doors and put money (or anything else of value) inside the vault. This is the deluxe two-door vault bank; Brumberger also made a smaller single-door version. This vault bank is about 9\" wide by 7\" tall by 6\" deep.
