Extremely rare Star Wars autograph!

Signed by hand by Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist Tony Auth, this trading card from the Topps Star Wars Galaxy Series II set is in near mint/mint condition and will be shipped with the utmost care. A great example of how Star Wars influenced not only popular culture but real-world politics, Auth’s cartoons depicted on this card feature Reagan and the proposed Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) which, based on it’s plan to use space-based weapons systems to protect the United States, was quickly dubbed, and derided by opponents, as the “Star Wars” program.” Opponents were ultimately proven wrong as merely the pursuit of a viable SDI program helped bring an end to the Cold War and the Soviet Union. Please note- the signature is real. It is the actual, hand-singed signature of Auth. It is not a pre-printed image on the card.
