Simpsons Holy Grail: Animation Magazine #1 1987 Near Mint + Ullman Show T Shirt For Sale

This is the ultimate must-have lot for the serious Simpsons collector.First, it is Animation Magazine, volume 1, number 1 from 1987, which is considered The Simpsons’ first appearance. In it is an article about their upcoming debut on The Tracey Ullman Show. On the cover is a color image of The Simpsons sitting on their trademark couch, and inside there is an advertisement from the Animation Studio that created all 10 Tracey Ullman Show shorts (see photos).The condition is very near mint - all four corners are still pointy, rigid and shiny, and the pages are still so tightly bound that it appears to have almost never been read.The only flaws I can detect are a very slight bit of scuff or dirt on the white top edge of the back cover, and a truly miniscule white pinstripe along the outer spine - which only indicates that the magazine has been opened before. I am not a CGC Grader, but my guess is this copy is in the high nines, even better than the CGC 9.4 of a different copy currently on . That copy, by the way, says of the condition, “none higher”. I’m pretty sure this copy is higher! There isn’t even any yellowing of the pages. Please see the photos.Also included in this sale is an original 1987 The Tracey Ullman Show T-Shirt. It is an extra-large in fantastic condition. The neck is still small and tight, suggesting it has hardly been worn, if at all. No stains or tears or wear of any kind, really. Below the show’s logo is printed, “Copyright 1987 Twentieth Century Fox…” among other information. It is an original t-shirt from the show’s debut.I will also be including in the sale an official 1987 Fox TV promotional photo of the cast of The Tracy Ullman Show, which included Dan Castellaneta (voice of Homer) and Julie Kavner (voice of Marge).
