Elegant 1847 Carl Tielsch-Altwasser "Twelve Months Ladies" Porcelain Plates with Gold Accents, Germany, exquisite and extremely rare, decorated with Intricate polychrome painting graced with heavy gold accents and a striking gold rim on each plate.
This enchanting set of twelve plates from Carl Tielsch-Altwasser, crafted in 1847, is a splendid tribute to the months and the wonders of nature. Every plate thoughtfully showcases a woman as the embodiment of a specific flower and month. Carl Tielsch founded the Altwasser factory in 1845. It swiftly became the second largest porcelain factory in Silesia. After twenty years the factory employed 1,400 employees. Products of the Tielsch factory quickly became known for its high quality and artistic values. Their quality was compared to porcelain manufacturers from Berlin or even Meissen.
