Pristine Original c1900 USMC Colt 45 Pistol Expert Shooting Badge Tiffany Clasp For Sale

For your consideration is this guaranteed original, pre WWI Pistol Expert Badge. This one\'s a bit of a mystery as it has a tiffany-style clasp, is most definitelyhigh-end jeweler made, but is unmarked by the maker. Most of these pre wwi Army/USMC colt badges were in fact unmarked, but were of a basic general quality, and some others were marked by American Emblem Co. along with a \"sterling\" mark. Nothing I\'ve been able to research in books or online (worthpoint, USMF, etc.) share this exact pattern. It\'s made of unmarked Sterling Silver, and the details are crisp. It has been recently cleaned and polished. It has the hard to find \"colt\" markings above the grips, and both said marking and the grips appear to be hand chased instead of being part of the original die pattern. A remarkable badge indeed, not necessarily priced for quick sale because it looks quite nice in my display and I\'ve never seen another.
