Matilda Feliksovna Kshesinskaya
Russian and French ballet dancer and teacher of Polish origin, prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theatre.Honored Artist of the Imperial Theatres. One of the last ballerinas of the St. Petersburg Imperial Ballet, Matilda Kshesinskaya lived in her own paradise - a luxurious house with a garden, a wine cellar and a laundry - until the new government deprived her of everything.
Matilda Kshesinskaya is the favorite favorite of the last Emperor Nicholas II.The ballerina\'s romance was short-lived. Nikolai Alexandrovich broke up with Matilda after his engagement to Princess Alice. Kshesinskaya was having a hard time with the separation.
The love drama she experienced helped Kshesinskaya dance Esmeralda.According to the plot, the gypsy dancer Esmeralda is rejected by her lover from the upper class; he wants to marry a lady of his circle. It so happened that Kshesinskaya experienced a similar tragedy of love and understood the feelings of the dancer who was exchanged for a noble person. Emotions made the dance and game bright and sincere.Matilda Kshesinskaya made her debut in Esmeralda on November 21, 1899.
The name of Matilda Kshesinskaya is known to everyone. She became the legendary personification of the capricious prima ballerina. Many judged her obstinate character and patrons, but even the most poisonous envious people recognized her talent and hard work.Matilda Kshesinskaya became the first Russian ballerina who was able to repeat 32 fouettés, which only Italian dancers could perform.Matilda began her career under the name Kshesinskaya-2; her older sister Julia, who married Baron Zeddeler and left the stage, performed under the number Kshesinskaya-1.
