Isidore-Romain Boitel Sculpture - Jesus in midst of the doctors/elders - 1850s? Bronze France
This is done by Isidore Romain Boitel mid 1800's. This is dusty with normal patina. Please see pictures.
Isidore Romain Boitel was born 1812-1861.
We brought this to the Antique Roadshow expert in Raleigh, he stated this was a fine piece of bronze making, by the French, to this day. He wasn't able to tell us anymore than what's stated below.
We can't find another picture of this sculpture.
However, per the listing of his known art - we believe this best matches. "Jesus in the midst of the doctors - HeroicPoetry Pastoral poetry, Peace and Abundance, The education of the Bacchus, Bathers."
This is very heavy. Weighs 24.5 lbs.
Size is approx. 19" X 12 1/2".
