CAPTAIN HEINRICH BAUER

(1902-1979) German aviator and the watch officer of the ill-fated airship Hindenburg during the disaster, going on to participate in numerous other Zeppelin flights. Later, a navigator for the Luftwaffe, wounded in action near Hannover in 1945. Scarce A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., Immenstaad, [n.d.], in German to an admirer, in part: \'...Thank you for your letter... and especially for the airship medals. I will leave them later in honor of my youth...I will send you some memorabilia for Christmas…\'. Fine.
