This vintage Kanna <WAKA-JISHI/若獅子> is.

- Blade: 65.7mm (2.59in) Wide (lower) x 112mm (4.41in) Hight,used.
- Wood Bottom Dai: 82mm (3.22in) Wide x 274mm (10.78in) Length x 35mm (1.38in) Thickness, used.
- The wood Dai is used but almost new,
- Surface of the Dai-sole is tuned in two-touch pointed.
Inmy video, I performed planing a SPF wood timber using each Kannas. Asa result of fine tuning of Dai-sole and sharpening the bladeedges, wood shavings leaped out from Kanna were very thin like a silkfabric.
Whenyou buy a used Kanna you have to set up it to planning in smoothly byyourself. Not only sharpening the blade-edge, but also reshape theblade, also sharpening the chip-breaker blade (counter-blade) andtune the sole of wood bottom “Dai”. It took a few days to havethese tuning.
Ifyou have Kanna for the first time you might be confused because ofmany things to do. (See the below website)
Nowyou have a chance to get ready-to-use. As soon an the Kanna arrives, you can use it but you should re-sharpen the blade from time to timeto maintain its sharpness.
Maintenance
Ialways use the whetstone #1,000 grit for mid and #6,000 grit forfinal sharpening the blade-edge (See the Amazon-site)
