Edge Pro Diamond Matrix Stones
The diamond Matrix line of knife sharpening stones was designed by Edge Pro for the sharpening fanatics that insist on the best. Attention to detail and quality areimmediately visible when you hold an Edge Pro Diamond Matrix sharpening stone in your hand. The Matrix diamond blade sharpener stones have a special feel of their own, and last an incredibly long time.
The Diamond Matrix line started originally with the 2300 and 4000 grit stones, which were originally known as the \"polishing stones\". After experimenting with coarser grits they decided to introduce them all - a new line of polishing stones in a league of their own.
With the diamond matrix stones the diamonds aren\'t just plated to the face of the stone, so as the stonewears, new diamond particles are exposed so the stone continues to cut at a consistent rate not losing any performance.
***Edge Pro does all they can to reduce voids in the stone during manufacturing but cannot guarantee the stones will be free of voids. These voids in the stone do not affect the sharpening performance
The Matrix stones are available in 6 different grits:
80 (160 micron) - The 80 grit diamond Matrix stone is made for extreme metal removal. Unlike the other Matrix stones, it is recommended that you use the 60 grit silicon caroffere for resurfacing this 80 grit sharpening stone.
250 (80 micron) - Edge Pro recommends maintaining this stone using the 240 grit aluminum oxide
650 (35 micron) - Edge Pro recommends maintaining this stone using the 240 grit aluminum oxide
1100 (17 micron) - Edge Pro recommends maintaining this stone using the 240 grit aluminum oxide
2300 (8 micron) - If you\'re wanting a polished edge, and you find the polishing tapes to be too delicate, this 2300 grit sharpening stone is definitely the solution for you. Edge Pro recommends maintaining this stone using the 240 grit aluminum oxide
4000 (5 micron) - like the 2300, If you\'re wanting a polished edge, and you find the polishing tapes to be too delicate, this is definitely the stone for you. Edge Pro recommends maintaining this stone using the 240 grit aluminum oxide
