Beautiful Complete Torah Scroll Handwritten on Parchment.Ancient Ashkenazi (Valish) Writing,Europe Germany.
You are offerding on a complete Torah Scroll (Sefer Torah)The 5 Books of Moses" Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers & Deuteronomy all handwritten by scribe on Genuine parchment. The sofer (or scribe) follows the Early Ashkenazi tradition and comply with rules and laws of the Ashkenazi Vellish "Kabbalah" script. It keeps the ancient way of writing used by Ashkenazi scribes long ago. This writing style has unique features, including mystical elements linked to early traditions in Germany and Poland over 150 years ago.
The Torah is complete with no missing sections and the parchment is in good condition. It is noticeable that the present scroll was written by a scribe specially-trained, working under very distinct rules and every detail such as the words, was transcribed with painstaking detail. The entire Torah Scroll was written by one scribe, with the exception of the last 3 pages which were written by another scribe.
The text is bright and clear and easy to read. The Torah Scroll considering its age is well preserved and in good condition and will stay beautiful with care for centuries to come. The individual pieces of parchment sheets are sewn together using a thread called giddin which is made from the leg sinews of a kosher animal.The Torah is not listed as kosher which does not effect the overall beauty of this Torah.
Condition: Evidence of usage and aging is apparent. The ink has subtly shifted to shades of brown or gray, yet the text remains legible. Letters show cracks and fading, indicative of the effects of time, but these do not diminish the item's overall value. The Torah is not listed as kosher and sold as is a Torah that is suitable for studies or dancing on holidays and Simchat Torah This is a collectible item and an amazing museum item !!!
