BattleBeyond the Stars is a 1980 American space opera film produced by Roger Corman,directed by Jimmy T. Murakami, and starring Richard Thomas, Robert Vaughn, GeorgePeppard, John Saxon, Sybil Danning and Darlanne Fluegel. The movie featured ascience fiction story of a young farmer that sets out to recruit mercenaries todefend his peaceful planet, which is under threat of invasion by the eviltyrant Sador and his armada of aggressors. The space warriors battle to save thepeaceful planet from a ruthless conqueror who promises to give his laser-totingmutant followers eternal life - by grafting victims\' organs and limbs on totheir aged bodies. It is considered a science fiction cult classic.

Now,Bluewater Productions, presents a prequel comic book story, set 30 years beforethe Roger Corman\'s Battle Beyond the Stars 1980 film. Battle Amongst the Starsis a four-part miniseries that tells the story of how Zed, the old man played byJeff Corey in BBTS, began his adventures from the planet Akir with Nell. Italso has the characters of Dr. Hephaestus and Sador of the Malmori.

Story/Spoilers:

In issue #1, Thirty years before BattleBeyond the Stars, Zed of Akir boards an alien space craft and is drawn into anopen galaxy unknown to him. There he finds himself in a race against time tostop a race called the Oztems from being wiped out by the ruthless Remlar ofthe Malmori, and his 1st lieutenant, Sador.

Next in issue #2, Onthe planet Olphen, a small group of alien defenders are preparing its peoplefor the possible attack by the Malmori as they seek their reproductivetechnology. Meanwhile Zed and Corin are captured by Remlar, and he chargesSador to get the location of the Olphen planet from them, by any meansnecessary.

Next in issue #3, After escaping from theMalmori warship, Zed and Nell must now cross the deadly Lambda Zone, avoidingthe pirates known as The Jackers who reside there. Meanwhile at Oztem,preparations begin for the final battle for possession of the Oztems\'replication technology. Some will live. And some will die.

Finally in issue #4, Thebattle concludes! The Malmori press their assault and get closer to theirtarget, the Oztem replication technology. Zed and the resistance forces facetheir greatest choices. Are they willing to lay down their lives to stop Remlarand his forces? Who will survive at the end to tell the tale?
