Antique Georgian Tea Knife Wooden Box Serpentine Mahogany Inlaid Desk Storage For Sale

This is an antique Georgian tea or knife wooden box with a serpentine shape and mahogany inlay. It was handmade in the United Kingdom during the 19th century (1850-1899) and is an original piece from the Victorian era. The box would be perfect for display storage. it was previously a knife box, but insert and the knives are missing. The hinge was changed at some point over the years, probably early to mid 1900s.

This is beautiful as is and does not need to be altered for use. If you would like to use the lock again, you would have to order a replacement skeleton key, and likely switch the hinges back to the original style of hinge.
