For your consideration we are offering this Sitting Bull sculptured tribute plaque hand crafted in 1938 by noted sculptor Emmet Sullivan. The likeness of Sitting Bull in raised relief surrounded by Lakota Sioux characters. Below a hand written tribute to the Lakota Chief. Signed and dated 1938. The reverse side features 2 stamps "E.A. Sullivan Sculpture by Sullivan - Cowboy Sculptor of Paha Sapa". Paha Sapa translates to the sacred grounds of the "Black Hills". Also the round mark of "Sullivan Art Studio - Rapid City, S.D." Plaque was made of native clay. A chip in the lower left corner and another chip in the back side of lower right. These chips do not interfere with the integrity of the plaque. Measures 10.5" x 7" x 3/4". Very few of these plaques were made by Sullivan. We will consider a reasonable offer.
