Artel Keramik statuette \"Ukrainian\" was created in the first half of the 1950s and was part of the last issue of Artel, which was transferred to the state system in 1956, renaming it to the Polonsk Plant of Artel Ceramics. The author of the composition is Polina Mikhailivna Gorenstein, better known under the creative pseudonym Lina Po. The figurine is dedicated to the memory of the wonderful master who passed away in November 1948.

The famous ballerina and director-producer of Dances by the will of a difficult fate became a sculptor. A serious illness deprived her of the ability to move and see. Blind and paralyzed, she did not lose faith in her creative potential and, after making incredible efforts, after a few years she was able to see and walk again. Small plastic became a second wind for Lina Mykhailivna. Her works were highly appreciated by famous artists, in particular the famous M. Nesterov. Three compositions purchased by the Tretyakov Gallery still remain in the exhibition\'s place of honour. The statuette \"Ukrainian\" is a vivid example of the strength of spirit and memory of the national roots, which personifies the dignity, tenacity and limitless possibilities of a person in all his endeavours.
