Porter B. Williamson Born on April 12, 1916, Porter found peace a few weeks short of his 94th birthday, after a decade long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. He lived a full life as an attorney, military officer, aviator, university instructor, and author. He was a County Prosecutor in Indiana before being called to service in WW II. He served with General Patton at the Desert Training Center, then transferred to the Army Air Corp and subsequently served as CO of the 424th Night Fighter Squadron. Years later, he wrote a book about the principles General Patton used to instill unprecedented motivation and success in his troops. In June of 1943, he married his childhood sweetheart and they remained devoted to each other for over 66 years. He moved his family from northern Indiana to Tucson in 1963 in order to enjoy the climate and magnificent mountains. Two qualities always affected his life: everything he did came from the heart, and even through his disease, he retained a marvelous sense of humor.
