This book features Pogo cartoonist Walt Kelly as a junior. He appears in a great group shot in the book. But the REAL attraction and star of the book are at least TWELVE original pieces of art by Walt. These are among the earliest published works by an all-time Top Ten cartoonist (see attached scans.)

This book itself is in fair to good condition. The one major defect is that the soft cardboard cover is completely detached from the page block. The cover, corners, and spine all show heavy wear. The top of the spine is ripped at the top from being pulled off a shelf many times. The front facing page is torn away from the staple at the bottom and has a 1 1/2 “ at the top toward the spine. The corners of the page block have “turned” over time. The rest of the page block is in very good shape for an almost 100-year old book. There are writings and signatures throughout. NONE of the above affect Walt’s cartoons in the book. Please note that there was another Walt who created cartoons in the book. The price reflects the content rather than the condition of the book.
