Giant Poster Art Book/Fun TimeIllustrations by Tony Tallarico plus Production Materials Group of 51 (Parkes Run, 1979).Comic book and comic strip artist Tony Tallarico provided art for several of Parkes Run company's oversized coloring and activity books. The set of images in this group were used on two poster coloring books,Giant Poster Art Book(with six posters) andFun Time(using four of the poster images). Here are the four original line art drawings by Tony used inFun Time. The illustrations are indeed fun - a pair of young girls playing dress-up ladies drinking tea; ballerinas performing Swan Lake; four young couples from classic fairy tales, including Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella; and a family living in a giant mushroom. The art is in ink with some whiteout on Bristol board measuring approximately 18" x 23" with image areas of 15" x 20.25". Also included: the bottom portion of theGiant Poster Art Bookcover artboard, with photostats of all six posters, three fully hand-colored and two partially colored with artists' markers, on heavy illustration board sized 19.75" x 17.25"; color film separations for both covers, plus separations for an alternativeFun Timecover; seven cover proofs for theGiant Poster Art Bookcover (one with a handwritten "OK RPM" in the lower right) and five forFun Time; one hand-colored "Mushroom" print; and 30 assorted prints from all six images. Some of the originals have a dust or smoke shadow along the top edge border. Overall condition is Good to Very Good with minor handling and edge wear, plus tape on a few production items.From the Samuel Lowe Company Archives.
