Set of 2 'Different Shaped' Lladro Christmas Bells dated 1997, 1998 Box for 1998 For Sale

Lladro founded in 1953, is the result of 3 brothers (Juan, Jose and Vicente Lladro) passion for porcelain beginning a tradition of artistic excellence and creativity. The Lladro Annual Christmas Bell Ornaments are a yearly tradition of beauty and holiday cheer. They are hand-made and hand-painted in Spain by Lladro artisans. These fine porcelain Christmas ornaments are dated and feature a unique design every year.

1. Bells made in1997-1999extended the vertical space in which the scene was visible on the bell allowingthe scene to be larger and more prevalent. Dates moved closer to top of bell withthe depicted scene underneath. The lower band was decreased in size. Varying details were painted in soft colors.

This set of 2 'differently shaped' bells are dated 1997 and 1998. The 1997 bell scene is the Creche, featuring Mary holding Baby Jesus with the 3 Wise Men looking on. The top band is painted in 2 colors - a very soft pink with the raised holly design and the numerals in pale blue. The bottom band is a very narrow placement of pink. The 1998 Lladro bell depicts a family singing at home consisting of Dad observing, Mom at a keyboard and 3 children plus a Christmas tree and fireplace. The top band features the year on a pink background and holly swirls in blue. The bottom band is extremely narrow and painted in blue.
