Civil War Volunteer Certificate dated December 15, 1864 and carries the signatures of President Abraham Lincoln and Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton. These are PRINTED signatures and not live ink!(A live ink signature of Abraham Lincoln will run between $8000-$12000+ depending on content.) Towards the end of the Civil War the U.S. government put out a call for "100 day" volunteers to force the end of the war. THIS is one of those certificates. It is genuine in every way and a fantastic Civil War document. This certificate was given to Sargent Thomas M. Elliott of the 156 Ohio National Guard. 4 months after the date of this certificate President Lincoln was assassinated. Edwin Stanton organized the search to hunt down Lincoln's killer, John Wilkes Booth.
