HEROES AGAINST HUNGER: Heroes Against Hunger featuring Superman and Batman was published by DC and like the earlier Marvel benefit project (Heroes for Hope) featured many top comics creators into several 2-page chapters.
DC SPECIAL SERIES #1: The first DC Special is also one of the earliest Dollar Comics, an 80-page, ad-free innovation DC pioneered in the late 70s. Includes a Flash story written by Cary Bates, with art by Irv Novick; a Green Lantern story written by Denny O'Neil, with art by Joe Staton; an Aquaman story written by Gerry Conway, with art by Dick Dillin; and an Atom story written by Paul Kupperberg, with art by Steve Stiles. The Batman story, written by Martin Pasko with art by Mike Nasser and Joe Rubinstein, is a crossover with the short-lived Kobra series, and serves as its finale (originally planned for the unpublished Kobra #8).
DC SPECIAL SERIES #21: Super-Star Holiday Special. Christmas-themed stories featuring an odd mix of characters: Batman, the Legion of Super-Heroes, Jonah Hex, Sgt. Rock, Cain and Abel, and the Phantom Stranger. Would be completely unremarkable, except that it includes Frank Millers very first Batman story, written by Denny O'Neil. Other writers include Bob Rozakis, Robert Kanigher, Paul Levitz, and Michael Fleisher, with art by Dick Ayers, Romeo Tanghal, Dick Ayers, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez and Dick Giordano. SUPER TEAM FAMILY #15: Super-Team Family is a comic book anthology series published by DC Comics from 1975 to 1978 that lasted for 15 issues. It included a mix of original and reprinted stories. Darkseid causes Orion to grow to planetary size, and the New Gods find that only the Flash can penetrate the Source to bring back an antidote for him.
FOUR STAR SPECTACULAR: An ongoing series published by DC Comics from April of 1976 until February of 1977, spanning a total of six issues. This "Giant-sized" series had a higher page count than standard titles. It reprinted stories from Golden Age and Silver Age DC Comics titles. Each issue featured four different heroes, either in four separate stories or in three stories (one of which was a team-up story). In each issue, two of the four heroes were always Superboy and Wonder Woman. In the text column of the first issue, the editor states that Superboy was being featured because he no longer had his own series (the Legion of Super-Heroes having displaced him in his own book).
ADVENTURE COMICS: Starting with Issue #459, Adventure Comics changed the run to a Dollar Comic format giant-sized book (issues #459–466) including such features as the resolution of Return of the New Gods (cancelled in July–August 1978) and Deadman.
